Where did you mount your brake control?

Postby z71truckin [OP] » Dec 21 2010, 3:34pm

Hey ya'll,
I have a 2011 LT extended cab z71 and was just wondering where any of you put your electronic brake control. I have really long legs so I don't know about putting it down between my legs for fear of ripping it off. I had thought about something like in the big box on the front of the center console. Or something like that but wasnt sure. Any Ideas? Is this feasible? Pics of your Mount if you did something "unusual" would be great!

Also, what type of box are you running?

Thank all of you for your help and sharing your knowledge.

Mine in towards the right side of the cockpit, just about over the area of the gas pedal. Has not been a problem. I had a friends shop install it, took them about 45 min. They are all former GM techs operating an AC Delco Service Center and he sells RV supplies etc.

Mine is in the same area as Mike's (z15) only on the slant. It was there when I bought the truck. I am 6'3" with long legs and I have no problems with interference. I believe it is a pilot brand but not sure of model number.
If everybody thinks they own the best truck, then why are so many fords, dodges, and toyotas on the road?

Mine is built in the dash (OEM), below the dials for lights and 4WD. I wonder if there is open space in there, where a mod could be done for non-OEM controllers?

Mine is mounted in that worthless cubby in the center of the dash. I can't remember what brand mine is, has some slide control. I have nothing to tow so I have no experience working the control.

Right side is good and out of the way. I was told with most people being right handed you can adjust the brake control faster if needed.

About the same location as the other pics here. Made a custom bent bracket to shift the unit to the front so I wouldn't smack it with my knee.
