1500 Z71 lifted looking for opinion on programmer and gears

Postby timtoolman24 [OP] » Apr 03 2011, 12:02am

I have a 1500 silverado Z71 with a 10.5 lift with 37" tires on 22"rims. I currently looking to upgrade my rear end gears and maybe a programmer. I have a 3.42 rear end now, will a 4.10 be fine, I don't do much offroading it's mostly a daily driver that I tow four wheelers around. Should I install a programmer? Looking for power back and tow back but don't wanna scarfice to much mpg by gearing it to low. Thanks for any help

you should be looking in the range of 4.88's i think. Those should put you back close to factory gearing / rpms ( crusing @ 70 mph ), with those size tires. ditch the idea of 4.10's with tires that big...

god bless your transmission with those monster tires !

A tune will help bring mods like ( Intake, Exhaust etc etc. ) together, and make a little better power...

I uploaded some pics on my profile, just click on my name.
But the 4.56 gears, they wont make me run to high of rpm going down the highway? I also forgot to mention I have the 6speed auto transmission, if that makes any diff.
