Will changing the rear end affect the MPH gauge?

Changing rear end gear ratio

Postby Snaker [OP] » Aug 30 2011, 3:01am

I am changing my rear end from the 3.42 gears to a 3.73, and am wondering if my miles per hour gauge will still be accurate.

--Also is there any way to correct this, if indeed this does have a noticeable affect?

Changing rear end gear ratio

Are you changing tire size also? It will affect your speedometer and odometer. You can buy a programmer that will recalibrate it for you.

It can be fixed at a speedo shop, too.
