I have a 2007 nnbs Silverado 1500, with the 5.3L 4L60E and 4.10 gears. I would like to know more about the differentials, specs and any strength testing that has been done on these. I have looked but cant really find the info that I want. Does anyone have and links to these differentials?
Eaton makes the G80 locking differential, which most GM trucks have. I know the links I gave don't have a ton of technical specs, but I'll bet if you contact Eaton, they'll have more than enough info.
But the $64,000 question is: are all G80 RPO diffies the same? Miy G80 description says "limited slip" and not locking. And it certainly has never behaved like a locker either. To get it to lock, I have to trick it by slightly applying rear brake (usually with the parking brake).
Im not talking about the G80 Locker, I am referring to the whole rear end and front center diff. What years did they change and what improvements were made from the old 10 bolt.
