Help me identify my transmission

Having just got this truck from a friend I dont know what tranny is in it(1991 Silverado--reg.cab) could somebody please tell me the codes to look for ;for what trannys.Thanks Silverfox

Post up your VIN and we'll tell ya. http://www.compnine.com/vid.php seems to work pretty well for identifying items like this.

You're missing a character. VIN should be 17 characters, you've got 16.

I would like to install a posi- rear end but I need ti know what tranny i have. Also,what posi # 's would i be looking for.I know that I have a 4 speed o/d,Thanks Silverfox
