I haven't been a real fan of Stabilitrack, keeps me from ripping donuts in the field or in the parking lot, stops me from drifting around corners in the winter, just seems to kick in when I'm about to have fun... Until today. It's been warm here the last few days, above freezing during the day and just below during the night, so roads are wet, making the truck look like a mess, anyways. I'm cruising to work today, going the normal 110km/hr on the 100km/hr highway catching up to the logging trucks traveling this highway. I pull up behind one and put the hammer down as I go to steer over into the oncoming lane, well the ass end kicked out and I was at 45 degrees to the road in a fraction of a second. Before I had a chance to lift my foot off of the accelerator pedal the Stabilitrack had kicked in, cut all power to the engine and I swear it applied the right front brake because within another second I was straight again. The truck in front of me slowed down a bit and pulled over as I continued to pass him, he probably thought I was going to try that again. Lol. I kind of like Stabilitrack now.
I spent a 15-20 minutes the other day messing around with stabilitrack and traction control on the truck. I am quite impressed at what it can do... the bonus of the sway control with the integrated brake controller... I am more than impressed.
Nice I can still turn it all off when I want.
but my driveway gets its share of ice, and that helps keeping me from slinging gravel all the way down the driveway when I move the beast.
Ive noticed this too, this weekend i was up north on all snow covered roads that in some spots turned to ice and in 2wd and it kicks in almost seemingless really is a nice feature!
That's cool and all, but man, I have to fight that damn thing every time I get into the truck. I am always trying to burn out and take corners quickly and that stabilitrack is just killing it. Every time I want to have fun, I have to hold down the button for 10 seconds. I wish there was an on/off so that I could toggle it instead of having to turn it off again and again! haha Glad your okay too!
Glad it helped you. It almost cause an accident with me. Cut the power right when I needed it (tire spun went a little sideways) and almost got me T-boned.
Yes it can be turned off, but if you want it off all the time you have to hold it down every time you start your vehicle or I believe you have to pull your ABS fuse.
