It's normal for it to not lock when it's cold. Mine wasn't locking at all past 2400 RPM, but it sounds like you don't have the same problem.

best thread ive found so far as to my, ummmmm, drivability issue, Kieth i thnink we have the same truck! did you change tiresize? the one i buaght has larger wheels and tires, shifts funny is the best way to describe, torque conve locked when not supposed to be, and not when it is, chugging along at too low of rpm unless gassing on it hard, im thinking map sensor no code but stuck and still in range, or cat convert stopped up, tps is not a bad idea but ive chased that idea on a buick skylark 3800 of my mothers, it didnt fix it, was sold before i got to try to map sensor, ive also got a 99 dodge v10 with torque lockup concern, i guess its my demon
