i was wondering if anyone on here has removed a transfer case in a 2001 sierra, just looking for some tips on how to remove it or if theres any specific way i should remove it. i also didnt know if the transmission oil would come out when the transfercase is removed, if anyone has any tips or info on removing one please let me know thanks.

Easy. Remove both driveshafts, transmission crossmember, two speed sensor connectors, one big connector for t-case motor (if not a manual t-case), shifter cable for trans depending on how its routed, 1 vent tube with clamp 6 15mm nuts that bolt t-case to trans and yes tranny fluid will leak out the back. Use a new gasket on front of t-case not silicone! Very straight foward job. Youll have to pull tcase back and angle front of it down to remove

will all the tranny fluid leak out because i just had a flush done on it. and thanks for the info

Only like 1 quart or so. You will need to top it off afterwards

ok well thats not to bad then. im hoping the transfer case is my problem ive been chasing this ghost for a long time now. rebuild front and rear diffs and still cannot figure out the problem
