Truck pulls right in 4wd

Truck pulls right in 4wd

Postby Dennis391 [OP] » Dec 30 2012, 7:07pm

My truck pulls to the right when driving in the snow/slick roads in 4wd. Tires are new, all have the same air pressure, good alignment, breaks dont drag, ect. I'm at a loss! It feels like its gonna pull me off the road. If I'm in 2wd I dont have a problem! I've never had a problem like this with anyother 4x4 I've ever owned...
So any ideas whwt could be wrong?
Thanks

I would jack it up, and see if something is wrong with the the tie rods. Also, if you've got loose lug nuts, that can cause a similar issue. Any strange noises? Grinding? Vibrations?

I believe it's called Torque steer, similar to what front wheel drives experience. Mine does it also ;)

Thats kinda what I was wondering...if so its really bad! I had a 00' 1500 witha 5.3L and it NEVER felt like that! It drove nice and straight.

Both my 4x4 trucks don't pull to either side at all, and their front ends take a whooping from the plows.

There will be some torque steer, but it should only do that when under some pretty heavy throttle. It should not be so bad that it almost pulls you off the roadway. I would check for a bad front axle shaft joint.

What Jordan said is exactly right...Mine only pulls under acceleration as he stated, then evens out.
