vibration coming from front of vehicle

Postby drob22 [OP] » Feb 17 2011, 9:08pm

I have a 2005 silverado 1500 2wd. Recently I have stated to notice a vibration coming from the front of the truck at speeds over 25mph. It only happens when I turn to the right, but only if it is a mellow turn like switching lanes on the freeway , it sounds like one off the wheels is turnig before the other one does. I have already replaced both front wheel bearing assemblys. I have checked to see if there is play in them again, the left front has a milded almost not noticable up and down movment. I think this may be the ball joints though, other than that the wheel has no other play. I do go to the desert alot and my alignment is off. Do you think this could be the problem. My rack and pinion also has some play to it. I can jack one front wheel off the ground and pull on the wheel and hear a clunk sound come from the rack. Any help is GREATLY appreciated thank you.

Sounds to me like it could be any of the above. But most likely a bad ball joint or tie rod end. If you do a lot of driving through the desert i can imagine how bad the sand eats up any moving parts. But i would also check the idler arm to make sure none of the teeth are missing
