Maybe there is more than one bad tire? Usually drive line problems vary with speed and go away when you coast. Tires issues usually do not, weather coasting or under speed they usually are present. Also tire issues can get worse as speed increases.

OEM tire problems are common. I had 2 GY Wranglers replaced in the first 5,000 miles on my 08 GMC. So far the Bridgestones are OK on my 2010. I also had problems with the GY tires on my 2005 CTS, the dealer spent a lot of time match mounting and balancing them to remove vibrations from the Cadillac @ over 50 mph and after many tries finally replace all 4. Sometimes I wonder if the tires get damaged in transit, e.g. car clamped down on car carrier breaks belts.

I also have a 2011 2500 HD Duramax w/ the Z71. I have put a leveling kit on (that only lifted the front) and 275/70/18 Toyo M/T Open Country Tires. I to have been dealing with a vibration after 2000 miles on the truck. The truck now has 7000 miles.

When I bough the truck I put New Hankook tires on the truck and was told by the dealer I had a bad tire. The Hankook tires came off of the poerstroke I traded in and only had around 7k miles on them. Returned to the store that I bought the tires from and replaced 2 and vibration was still there. Since then I have purchased the new set of toyos mentioned above. These tires have only 1000 miles on them and the same vibration is still there, around 45 mph, 65 mph and it is at its worse at 70 to 75 mph. I to have noticed that it does not mater what gear you are in, the vibration is still present.

I have worked in the oil field for many years driving trucks with mud tires and know the difference between a bad tire and a mechanical vibration. Like mentioned below a tire vibration will not go away at differnet speeds. The vibrations in my truck goes away as soon as the accelerator is let off and will come back as soon as the acceleator has been reapplied. I have had the service manager drive my truck and he has felt the vibration.

Not happy with the dealers opion of the vibration I took the truck to another dealer and they pulled tires off a new truck on the lot and put them on mine. They put 17" tires on and the vibration is still there at differnt speeds. I have pulled my toy hauler camper which is around 10k emoty and the truck feels like it is going to fall apart. I am taking my truck back to the dealer Monday and insited they put stock 18 " tires on it and drive it again for a long distance. I travel around 150 miles a day for work and the vibration seems to get worse the longer it is drove.

Like you I think there is a mechanical problem. Mabe between the dealer you are dealing with and mine this can be resolved. I will post when I get my truck back and see what they have to say this time.

I have a new 2011 2500hd z71 two wheel drive with 20 inch wheels and have vibrations from 40 to 50 mph and the dealer has changde wheels and tires and now says that they have to go elsewhere to find 0ut what is causing it. After reading several blogs, I don't think it can be solved and I plan to invoke the lemon law.

I had a truck several years ago, (different brand) that had a vibration that took many visits to the dealer, and a lot of my time to fix. They finally found that the right rear axle was machined out of tolerance from the supplier. They replaced the axle, and problem solved. Had another new vehicle with a bad driveshaft that caused vibrations as well. A new driveshaft cured that one. Not sure what the problem is with your trucks, just wanted to list some possibilities.

I have a 2011 Silverado CC Z71 and have a vibration in the IP Dash at 40 and 55 kms an hour . It seems to kick in with the AFM , its driving me nuts and the service dept can't seem to pin-point the location. It has been doing this since day one !! I keep the XM Radio turned up so i don't have to hear the damm thing !
