2014 extended cab

Postby Blaster63 [OP] » Aug 23 2013, 6:12am

Was driving down the road today and saw a truck carrying a few of the new 2014 extended cabs. One of the biggest things I've noticed is that Chevy has done away with the suicide doors on the ext cabs. Not really sure how I feel about the looks of them yet.

Anyone have any feelings on the new ext cab looks?

I haven't seen one in person yet, but I think I like the suicide doors better. I know it's a lot easier to load stuff in the back of my truck than it is with traditional doors, and I'm usually alone in my truck so it makes it slightly easier to access the back seat as well.

I like the older style extended cab doors myself. I don't like the look of the rear door handles on the outside.

I won't be getting an extended cab now, GM has made them less usefully with doors that barely open 90 degrees. As opposed to the 07-13 that open 170 degrees. And now that you can buy a crew cab, with the more useful 6.5' bed, I'm sure you'll see the extended cab models disappear almost entirely.

My last truck was an extended cab, I grew to hate the suicide doors. Irritated me to hafta open the big front door first, especially in a parking lot

I hated the suicide doors on my previous extended cab. They were a complete pain in the ass. They were a prime reason I traded up to a crew cab truck. I think the new extended cabs with traditional doors are much better.

I don't like the new Extended Cab model since they doesn't offer the 8 ft bed like the 07-13 model like mine. Only the 6.5 ft and then, you are better off with the crew cab anyway!
Single cab are useless!

They now offer the same cab configuration as Dodge!

I hate that they did away with the suicide doors. They are so much easier for loading junk in the back seat.

The new ones just look like some kind of 1/2 door. I think they will be a poor sell. That's just my opinion though...:-)

I don't think so, Ram seems to be doing great with their "door and a half" 1500, I see alot of them on the road, although I hate Ram I've always thought maybe it would be a good idea if GM did the same…
