Black Bow Tie Borderless - see attached pic

Postby chevygirlkc [OP] » Jul 22 2011, 2:25am

Hello Everyone,

As you all know, it is a woman's prerogative to change her mind and again, I did just that.

I have decided to go from all black emblems to no emblem on the back and a chrome emblem on the front. I have a Black Borderless Bow Tie for the Tailgate on a 2011 Silverado. It has the little tiny screws if your truck needs those and it has the new double stick tape on it. I literally ordered it, got it, held it up to my tailgate and said, nah. My bordered black bow ties for front and rear have already been spoken for so it's just the one.

So, here's the deal. First one who wants it gets it. I will put it in the mail to you on Saturday. You need to PM your mailing address. I DO NOT want money for it. Instead, you need to "Pay It Forward". Either do something nice for someone someday without any expectations Or next time the firemen are out on the corner holding the boot for donations throw something in there Or fire up your pay pal account and make whatever donation you want to help keep our silveradosierra.com running as great as it does. It's your choice. My other rule is that you don't sell it. If you get it and don't like it, give it to some other Chevy. It needs a good home.

So, there it is. If you think I'm kidding, ask my friend Nero558 or Koolz71.

Thanks.

Thanks! :D

I think it will. It has the double stick tape so you can just stick it on like the OEM and it comes with tiny little screws if your tailgate has the holes. No need to drill holes. My tailgate is smooth. Let me know if you want it.

I used a plastic paint scraper that I wrapped in a paper towel. Gently put it between the bow tie and the tailgate. Tapped lightly with a hammer. Pulled out paint scraper and repeated it by moving to a different spot. It will start to come loose and then you can get your fingers in there and pull forward. It helps if it is hot and sunny as it helps make the glue kinda give. If you are working on it in the evening grab the hair dryer and use hot setting and get it warmed up. After it peals off, make sure you use some goo be gone and get the area clean from the old adhesive. After I got it all cleaned with goo be gone I used rubbing alcohol because I always think goo be gone has a slight oily feel to it. You kinda only get one shot at putting the new one on so I used painters tape as a guide. I put the tape on so when I had the bow tie ready to go on i just put it right where it needed to be. Press firmly and evenly on the new one. Let me know how it looks.

Thanks again, Kelly. I really like the emblem. I will probably end up getting a matching one for the front! :D

You are very welcome. It looks great. Now you need a trailer hitch cover.
