Yep, have to have a very expensive scanner to tell what is wrong. Probably a sensor tho as those are common abs faults. Call a dealer, see if the recall was performed first and if not, go there. If it has, take it to a trusted shop to have the code read. Autozone, IME, does not have the capability to read the abs system.

I agree with country1911, but, some things you can try yourself are (1) make sure the brake fluid level is not low (if it is, check for leaks, or worn pads/shoes). (2) you can take the wheels off and clean the abs sensors (they tend to attract a lot of brake dust). (3) check for any obvious signs of damage to the abs wires leading to each wheel. You will probably wind up having to get it scanned, but sometimes checking the basics work too.

My abs has been acting up for a while now, I was told its a bad hub, and it's common. It only throws a light once in a great while.

The hub is where some ABS sensors are located. Some are not servicable and the whole hub must be replaced.

At least they are pretty simple to replace.

You can wipe it off with a clean rag if you can get to it. If you can not get to it, blow compressed air on it to blow off the dust particles. They are magnetic and tend to attract small metal filings.
