The guessing of model changes happens always....Im sure to say what is true is that dealers have "quarterly" orders they have and are allowed to make certain changes based off of what the current production and what time of the year it is. Your looking at quarter 4 right now almost since it is March and the 2015's are due out in June/July/August typically...When I was going to order my truck I had this same thing I was not going be guantreed a order nor ship date therefore I found what I wanted via my dealer and doing a dealer trade! My advice is wait or look for what you want in 2014 since the rebates are great!

No Chance of a new tranny or engine for 2015, Its way to close to production. Gm would have leaked out something like that.
I bet nothing but the minor fixes they made to 2014's

I'm just wondering how long it'll be before GM ditches the V8 and puts wussy turbo 6s in all the trucks. That will be a sad day, indeed.....

i'd like to see them slap a turbo on the current 5.3. it gets good enough gas mileage and would give the extra power. doubt they'll ever do it though

I don't think dumping the V8's will ever happen.
GM might consider splitting the truck division from Chevrolet like R*m split from Chrysler.
That way the CAFE Standards for cars are not "brought down" by the trucks.

Always fun to speculate but most have no idea how a large manufacturing operation has to plan going forward. Next year for the 1500 will be minor if anything as pointed out above there would have been information out on a new tranny or oil burning engine.

Don't ever say that; don't even think it.

Because severely hydrocracked Group III oils have properties very similar to Group IV oils, they are also called synthetic.

GM wont turbo 5.3... it would eat the sports cars if you could get it to hook up. second the new canyon/Colorado has a diesel version for the 2015 model. not sure when thats coming out, in Brazil the canyon and Colorado have been diesels already for the past year or so. I would like to see a diesel 1500 tho but it i think it would be too pricey think about it... diesel engine $5000? option on a $45000 truck= $50000 you can buy a decently equipped 2500 for that. just my .02.

/\ /\ /\ Until they offer a diesel in a 1500, then the price of the 2500/3500 goes way up to compensate.

Not sure what the point in putting a Diesel in a 1500 is. The motors now can already tow a trailer that puts you over the payload of the truck. Soo I don't get it. I guess you get to pay 5K extra for a truck that can tow a 6500lb trailer easier? Cost more in fuel and more to repair.
