Yesterday while hauling mulch I noticed that a chunk of the frame coating has fallen off and is now just bare metal. Need some advice on what to do and will GM do anything for me?
There is a TSB out on the frames, take it in to the dealer and they will put a new coating on. I had it done last year, but that coating is already flaking too, not sure they'll do it a send time... I undercoat my truck every year so I'm not going to worry anymore, the Krown undercoating will protect the bare metal...
$20 for a can, I used what was left over from my and I only used two cans to do my frame and I managed to get about 99.8% of it. just hard to get up front and in-between the body mounts.
They fixed mine but it doesn't last here in eastern canada. They said they touch it it up every year free. Think I'm just going to get rust checked instead. Better protection, doesn't just cover it up.
Dealer just did mine last week and said if i ever notice any more spots or issues just bring it back.
