Loaner Truck

Postby #32 [OP] » Apr 18 2012, 2:19pm

Ever drove a different truck and realized how much you love yours...

I dropped my crew cab off last night for an oil change early this morning and Rapid Chevrolet was kind enough to comp me a loaner for last night and all day today. I'm not complaining, because 1, they gave me a loner, 2 it wasn't a compact car and 3, it was a Silverado extended cab.

Very kind of them. But the experience did make me appreciate the decision to buy a crew over the extended cab.

Yep... is why I went crew over extended too... Nothing wrong with extended (unless you frequently have more than 2 people in your truck). Oh, and having talked to friends who've pulled gooseneck trailers a lot, I also opted for the longbed. Apparently maneuvering with the short or regular beds can get pretty limiting.

But it makes my truck entirely too long to put in my garage (although my garage is pretty small anyway, not sure extended cab short bed would fit).

BTW, I'm not knocking the extended cab, but I've got two pre-schoolers in the back seat who take full advantage of the extra few inches.

I hear ya, just driving anyone else's truck makes you feel "different".

I too love the crew over the extended. My Dad has a 96 Z71 Extended Cab, and I remember riding in that and HATING it. My in-laws got in the back of mine, and didn't gripe a bit!

I prefer my crew cab Sierra over my old SS Silverado (miss the AWD 6.0 LQ9), if it was a crew cab it would have been perfect.

So happy to have my truck back. Turns out the dealership was supposed to put a protective under coat on when i bought the truck but didn't do it so they hooked it up after the oil change. They did the wheel wells too :D

i know the feeling man! whenever i drive someone else's truck i feel like im cheating on my truck.

like a shake weight; i cant use that because i feel like im cheating on myself.

being in someone else's truck just feels awkward. i feel out of place. then when i get mine back it's like heaven. like being back in my own bed after a long trip

Well put. I drove my wifes tahoe last night to the kids ball game just to run it since we have a 3rd vehicle as a runner (she drives the runner a lot) and the entire time I was in it I was missing my truck. Is that wrong? Amazing how attached one can get to their truck.

it's incredible how attached we can get. It's like we're young again and just getting our first puppy. Every boy loved his dog. Inseperable. Thats how i am with my truck
