Log book

Postby Tommybrown [OP] » Jan 11 2017, 5:23am

Doesn't anybody keep a log book of what they have done to their truck. Date and at what mileage ? I've been doing this since I got the truck. Just wondered if anyone else does.

I did it for the first few years, but stopped after a while. But, I may make up a maintenance log with actual work performed, to show if I ever sell. I do keep every receipt for all work though, and that's a plus.

When I first read this I thought you were referring to a driver's log book
I keep a binder with all my service records, receipts, installation instructions, etc... Those plastic page protectors are handy because you can file multple documents in one. (ie. brake job would include the part receipts, shop receipt, warranty card).
I keep the service intervals up front. I also threw in some pages from the manual, TSBs, and diagrams.
Unfortunately, it seems like a great idea but it won't get you a better trade-in value or sale price in the end. Still good to have if you've got an optimistic buyer

It started to track mileage, but I've kept up with it. I have a log with EVERYTHING I've done to the truck, including every fill up.
