Terrible wind noise with window down

Postby CEC_LDO [OP] » Dec 16 2011, 6:05pm

What is with the terrible, and almost painful, wind buffeting noise when you put one window down a couple inches??? It's definately not the windshield noise everyone has talked about, because it goes away immediately after cracking another window open an inch or so. My wife's Buick Enclave does it too. Has anyone else experienced it and did you find a way to resolve it? I was thinking about getting ventshades but I'm not sure that will help...Would a bug deflector alter the aerodynamics enough to remove it?

Thoughts?

My windows do this if just the back one's are rolled down but if you crack the front one to it should go away and i have ventshades and a bug deflector and neither one made a difference

It does it regardless of which window is down. It does go away if the window is opened more than about 3-4 inches but if you just want a bit of fresh air you have to open two, it's just so damn obnxious...

I can crack my front windows about an inch or so and it doesn't do it maybe the ventshades make a difference I never noticed it before so I'm not sure if they changed anything of not

it's just the physics of things...

Same thing happens when you tilt open a sunroof,... to remove the noise, to open another window a bit, it allows for proper airflow...and the noise goes away
