Hi In2Trux,

Great ideas... It is something I've tried to instill in my daughters as well... The oldest daughter took the bait (25 years old), the middle one ( 23 years old) did not, until the car broke down on her. The youngest daughter (18 years old) is still a work in progress.. Her "excuse" (she still lives at home), that's my job as her Daddy... As for my wife. I gave up on that many, many years ago.. I even set up a local garage for her to go to, so they could do the inspections weekly. All she had to do is drive by. Still not even 80% yet... Getting better though.. Use to be 0%..

Take care and Thanks again, :-)

All great ideas... one thing that I've taken to doing since my old Buick let go on me - about once a week I'll try and find turns (without traffic) that require me to turn the wheel all the way to lock. Hang your head out the window and listen for rubbing and other obvious noises. Kinda fun to do to!

They don't seem to last long in the bumper, changed mine out to white led bulbs. Have to see if they hold up. So far so good. Also change the cargo bulbs out their always wet and burned out.

I do weekly walk arounds and check all visual things, dig a few rocks out of tires, check fluids, etc.
Think about it...if you are the primary driver, it may be rare that you'd ever go to the passenger side of the vehicle, unless you do it on purpose.

I do walk a around daily.

Check to see if tires are in good shape, no cuts, bulges, screws, nails, good tread and proper inflation with a good kick. Tire pressure weekly with both DIC and Gage (120 PSI gage due to Front 60 Max Cold and 70 Rear Max Cold).

No spots under the trucks or around tires meaning brake fluid or drive train.

Lights at night with remote start plus window drive by, plus we always back the trucks into parking spaces and driveway. Ensures you do not run over idiot's SPEEDING in Parking Lots!!! Unless there is work being done on the engine. Also check lenses. Clean and not cracked or sand blasted.

All Fluids checked weekly and Complete Inspection Before road trips. Wipers, washer fluid, Anti-Freeze, Tranny, Engine Oil (Oil Life Monitor), Brake Fluid, clean windows, mirrors, power steering fluid (part of your brakes now, no vacuum booster), lights, roof markers, tires, hoses, battery plus cables, back up camera clean and working.

Basic Tools, LED Mag Light, and regular 18" Mag Light because having a bat in your vehicle is illegal. ;)
First Aid Kit Complete, Basic Food Rations plus a case of water.
