Ugatyler's 2016 Sierra all-terrain.

Postby ugatyler [OP] » Jan 28 2017, 3:07am

I want to start this thread so I can document the changes and modifications to the truck.

Here is the truck the day I brought her home.

Shortly after I purchased I installed the Husky X-Act Contour floor mats and a Stubby antenna. I also added a roll-n-lock A series bed cover around the same time. Image

After Christmas I tinted the front windows 20% to match the back windows.

Yesterday I installed a Rough Country 2 1/2" level and then added 275/65r20 Goodyear Mtr's w Kevlar. They were expensive tires but I have them on my Jeep in size 37's and they are smooth and clean out well so I'm sold on this tire. This is what she looks like today. I may add some more pictures tomorrow if it's nice outside.

Beautiful truck. Any reception loss with the shorty antenna?

Yes, a little. I have the smaller version of this on my jeep and they both lose some reception. However, on the truck I intend to keep Sirius XM so it's really just there for looks. If you listen to FM or AM a good bit it may would bother you.

How do you like the bed cover? I'm trying to decide which one to order. I had a fold a cover G4 elite on a different truck and it was nice but stuck over the bed cap about 1".

Yours looks like it's closer to flush.

I like the bed cover. It was super easy to install and does a great job keeping water out of the bed. You are correct, it is pretty close to flush with the top of the truck. From the side you can't even tell it's on except for the part in the back where the cover goes when it's rolled up. The only problem I foresee is that I had to install a small piece on the tailgate and I'm afraid that if I was moving anything heavy in and out of the back of the truck it could possibly rip off. But I have driven my ATV on and off the back of the truck and had no problems yet so maybe it's made to withstand that.

Roll-n-lock has 2 versions that I was looking at. M-series and A-series. I purchased the A-series because it seemed tougher and is made of aluminum instead of vinyl. A friend of mine has the m-series and I would have been happy going that route as well.

Here's a few more pics I snapped today. I gave it a quick wash down first. ImageImageImage

I forgot to add in my previous post that I also got the cargo manager by roll-n-lock and a rubber bed rug to keep things from moving around. Both are worth their weight in gold. The cargo manager is easy to remove and comes in handy when I need to throw groceries or a propane tank in the back.

I also snapped a picture of all my toys. I installed something on my ATV this morning and had to move the jeep to get it out so I decided to take a picture of all 3. Obviously I like the red and black theme.

I also reinstalled my air dam but I'm not sure I'm going to leave it on. I can't decide if I like the way it looks better with it on or off.

Those MTRs look excellent!
I would assume the level kit wasn't essential to fitting them? I'd like to put some more aggressive tires on my 20s eventually but I think most of them look weird with the small profile. Not the case here.
