Driving me nuts- I have a 2001 Sierra.
My wife used it to take her friend to pick up her car at the chev.dealer service dept.
While there she asked the service writer to reset the oil change prompt. ( the reset as spelled out in the owners manual is incorrect, and has never worked)
He did some sequence involving the light switch, ign. and throttle.
Now, the daytime run lights do not come on, the headlights come on as soon as the park brake is released and truck is in gear. day or night.
Did he do voodoo on my truck ? and put the lights in some mode ?
My next guess would be bad light sensor on dash, or wiring.
Bulbs work when I remove them to test.
at 150,000 miles this has been a great truck, fuel gauge doesn't work if more than 1/2 tank of gas ( since 2004), clip for the tailgate linkage snapped in 2005, tailgate plastic trim dropped off in the driveway a few months ago.
finish on plastic hubcaps came off pretty quick.
But very happy with this truck, fantastic brake system- still have the factory pads.
Can count on 20 MPG at 70 MPH all day
