Hi all I have 01 silverado 3500 and i cant figure out what the aux lamp button does. The truck has the camper package if that has anything to do with it not sure. When i push button i can hear a relay clicking in the driver extended cab door. Thanks Shane

You'll need to loosen the handle and coat hanger pins in order to get some slack between the headliner and the roof. I pulled mine and routed the wires to the rear of cab, down along the C-pillar and spliced a quick connector so I can plug in my mini lightbar in seconds and use the switch to operate it. Surely beat scrambling for the cigarette cord on floor in the dark and then try to find the 12V port."
On the HD trucks the AUX light button, as said above is for if you want to put on say a yellow warning light for plowing and such. Could also be used for aux reverse lights too i suppose.
Found the harness thanks everyone . Looks like a good source to power a c/b radio.
