Hello all. I bought a used 2010 chevy silverado and i just realized the tool kit for lowering the tire and extending the jack were missing. Does anyone know where i could find the tool kit cheap?

What's the dealer asking for? Might want to try a salvage lot. Also, the screw jack in my kit failed while I was jacking. I replaced it with a 3-ton bottlejack I got off Craigslist for $15.

I'm with WingNut- go to the dealer first, then try Craigslist, a junkyard, etc. RockAuto.com has some pretty low prices, too.

Like a bonehead I was using my new tire iron for a pry bar when I was putting on my 2 inch lift. Snap,, broke the tip off, Local dealership wanted 89 skins for a new one. Jeeze,,,, had my buddy braise it, good as new, a pair of vise grips or crescent wrench will work to get spare down too. And yes the jack is junk, I bungied in a nice little spare I had in the garage and plan on using the new one for a catfish sinker soon

As mentioned, if you go through the dealer then you will probably pay for it. Did you buy from an individual or a dealer? You might go back and ask for one and settle for them to at least split the cost with you.

Other than that, you could try to find one for sale on CL or ebay, but I think the dealer or junkyard will be the best bet.

Good luck with finding what you need. Let us know when and where you find it.

On a newish truck, i would wonder why they weren't there. Was it in an accident, ect.......

If you bought it from a dealer than you make them give you one.

Thats what happened to me my 07 didn't come with one and I told them it was unsafe for me to have just bought a truck and not be able to change my tire if "My Family" and I had a blowout.

He understood. :)

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. I went back to the dealer and my salesman was more than happy to take one out of another truck and give it to me. Said that was probably what happened to mine. Just a note, I dont know if I am dense but it took me the longest time to figure out the special tip is for the jack and you have to use the square end to lower the spare. But the serviceman at my dealer didn't know either so i don't feel too stupid.
