My 95 K1500 is not shifting into 3rd gear or into overdrive. I dropped the pan and let some tranny fluid out because it was overfilled. I put some stop slip stuff in there and then topped it off with fresh tranny fluid. I took it for a test drive and it's still not shifting into 3rd gear. Also, it revs up to 4000 and still doesn't shift. I have no other ideas. I am about ready to take it out to the junkyard.
I put 2 solenoids in tonight and it's still not shifting. I don't know how to rebuild it and have no money to rebuild it or get a new one. I actually had to borrow money from my friend to get the solenoids. What is the best bet to do?
mine did it and the rear planetary gears got so hot that they melted my clutches... i have no idea how it happened. but yeah a rebuild is in order. i would save up and ride your bike around for now!
It is 30 right now where i live. I am not riding my bike anywhere. Tomorrow the truck is going out the the sand pit and getting shot at with 20 different guns. I am so fed up with vehicles right now.
I would see if I could find a transmission on craigslist or at a scrap yard. Don't shoot the thing, you can alkways part it out and get a small car for the money you get on the parts from it until you get back on your feet and can get another one.
I can't sell it for parts on craigslist because there are so many off them that look better and run better plus they have plows. Almost NO ONE on this post what the hell I'm talking about because you guys are from warm states and don't have to worry about rust from the snow or plowing. Bring your truck up here and drive it for one winter i will be so rusty it would almost fall apart.
You can still part it out. There is a lot of parts that do not get affected by rust too bad (engine, rear axle, interior parts ETC.) I'm just saying I would not shoot and runi anything of value you could part out and make back some of your money on.
