RADIATOR FLUID LEAK

Postby Blueabbott [OP] » Jun 14 2012, 3:30am

Has anyone experienced a leak at the bottom radiator hose? My 2WD, 1500 started leaking fluid and when I took it back to the dealer, he said that it was the bottom radiator clamp that broke, and that this was a common problem! In my case it ruined the hose and it will be in the shop for at least a day waiting for a replacement hose.
Vehicle has less than 3,000 miles on it.

I've never seen that happen, but I guess it is possible.

My hose is leaking also. I think the whole thing needs replace. Its a odd design the way they made the setup for the hose which runs to the transmission to rad. Its rubber hose which runs into metal that bolts to rad i have 2006 chevy silverado 2wd 4.3L 1500 work truck.

My situation was a plastic hose clamp that broke and destroyed the hose. Vehicle was a 2011 Silverado 4.3 work truck.

Yep I haven't replace mine yet. it's not messing with anything really. However at 98k miles past 2 oil changes i saw sign of maybe rear main seal leaking which I think its kinda odd for that low miles to be going on. Oil always been change on time and ran royal purple oil. the leak right where the transmission would bolt up to the motor.
