I have a 2000 Silverado 4.3 vortec, it starts fine cold, but after running will turn over but not fire. New injectors, CPS, EGR, Dist cap and rotor, plugs and wires, starter, fuel pump. Runs great no timing issues when it does start. One mechanic said it could be a main bearing... it has 324,000K on it mostly highway. Any suggestions?
I don't see how a main bearing would cause that. It could be a defective distributor or distributor gear. Too many variables to say for sure though. Does it have any codes?
Not sure if this would work on that truck, but I've seen ignition coils do that. They would short out due to heat soak. After they cooled off, they worked again.
no codes the only one is CPS after it won't start, however I replaced that last week... ICM?
