For those of you with the 4.8, what have you guys bolted on for those extra horses/torque? And is there any particular vendor/site that you use regularly? I'm new to the silverado world switching over from a Pontiac so i'm trying to get my feet wet here.

How much are you looking to get out of the motor? Can always start with replacing the stock filter with a K&N or even getting a CAI. Do that with an exhaust and a tune and it will be a whole new truck. I either get parts locally or have used www.stylinconcepts.com quite a bit.

I installed the Nelson Performance tune and it is freakin great!!!! NelsonPerformance.com out of Texas.
It replaces your stock ECM/TCM (which will void your warranty), but for the life of you owning the vehicle all updates are free. As far as a CAI you will not get a MPG or horsepower difference unless your tune is set up for it. It will sound different, but if the computer is not looking for it it won't change your air fuel mixture.

The stock ECU will notice if you add a CAI or exhaust and make changes they just wont be as drastic as if you have a custom tune set up for it.

I used Nelson on my previous truck and worked out well, still no substitute for having someone hands on tune it.
