Better Take off

Postby lasierra24 [OP] » Apr 03 2011, 9:11am

Aight guys..new to the forum... Need sum ideas. I have a 2007 gmc sierra classic crew cab. It's a 4.8l. I already have a single in dual outlet flowmaster dump. An Airaid full intake and a superchips flashpaq programmer. What im trying to figure out is from a roll, it has the get up and go. Although from a dead stop it's like it just boggs down..? Now, it has 3.73 gears in it, would lower gears give it the take off from a stop?..any info would be greatly appreciated.

First off welcome to the site. Great looking truck. Have you tried any fuel injector cleaner or throttle body cleaner. If if you clean your MAF since you have a CAI. You may have dirt somewhere interfering with a sensor.
Crap, my hampster fell off the wheel and it broke its leg.

4:10 gears and changing shift points will definitely help but you are fighting an uphill battle. 4.8's are weak on torque so unless you do some sort of forced induction you arent going to get much better.

And once you start breaking traction on a regular basis, it's time to start thinking about a LSD or Posi rear end (depending on if your going straight fast or curvy fast).

Welcome aboard and may all your need for speed desires be sated.

Welcom to the site! I don't know if the 2007 Classic has the torque management like the new trucks do, but that would explain poor takeoffs.
Dang it's hot!
