Electric fan?

Electric fan?

Postby Howzitbra [OP] » Apr 10 2011, 2:11pm

Maybe a dumb question but I was wondering if my truck came factory with an electric fan? It has a 4.8 in it with tow package. It's an 07 OBS. The truck has 2 electric fans side by side and it looks like the wiring runs down underneath them. My truck is a 2WD crew cab. Thanks SS crew.

Electric fan?

No. No fan attached to the motor and no fan shroud. Electric fan looks factory but I'm just not sure if it is or not. Does look like it has a small trans cooler in front of the radiator.

Cooling fans are standard on many trucks now. It started in 2005. Yes other models did have both the engine driven and a booster electric but ona a half ton truck with V8 engines, electric fans have been standard since 2005.

yes, indeed, they came out with those 2 little electric fans, most likely because the one big one is too dangerous for most people..
i aslo have a 2009 GMC sierra, it has those fans too.
pretty nifty i think.
