Intake Manifold for the 4.8

Intake Manifold for the 4.8

Postby BigRed2006 [OP] » Apr 03 2012, 3:30am

Evening everyone! First post on here as I've been reading your stuff creepin in the corners for a while O.o o.O

So I have a 2006 4.8L silverado. Starting my mods on it and I debated on the 6.0 swap for a while and decided to opt out of it. I want to keep the 4.8 and mod that. Already have an intake, working on an exhaust, and I was wondering...

Since the 4.8 is a LS base engine, I've heard rumor that the intake manifold off a Z06 vette fits the part well. I am looking at going to a few swap/trade shows soon and could possibly pick one up at them. Does anyone know for a fact if this part fits? If so, do I need new mounts for my fuel rails, etc?

Also on a side note. Does anyone know when Diablo is coming out with the intune for the 06 4.8L? I looked a the predator, but with the intune on sale, I would rather have that.

Thanks for the help!

You will have support from the inTune before or at the same time the newer trucks get TCM support. Supposedly (from Mike L at Diablo) there will be a huge update coming that will hit a lot of the Predator supported vehicles that will including the unicorn (TCM support) that we have all been waiting on.

On a serious note, I love the inTune and still don't regret picking it up over the Trinity with TCM support (I don't mind waiting since it wasn't my number one reason for pickin it up, but it would be nice to have). If you are willing to pay the extra cash, check out the Trinity, I think it might have support for your truck already.

I do like that trinity. Just a heavy price tag on it. Looks like it could give some serious boost to the truck though... Hmmmm

if u really want to go with a new intake u might want to look at the 92mm by fast or the 102mm also by fast, they bolt right up to any ls engine and are nitrous and boost freindly

I agree the fast intake has proven results, I will be buying one in the next 6 months.

What are the gains that people are seeing with the fast intake? I tried looking it up but I didn't get much...
