Hey everyone I just got rid of my 09 Nissan Titan for an 09 Silverado do to the economy I had to down size my payments. I went from 700.00 on the titan to 320.00 on the silverado. However due to the deal I got on the silverado I was stuck with the 4.8 V8. I must say it is a spunky little V8. However I am getting concerned with some of the posts about pulling. I have a 21 ft boat roughly in the neighborhood of 3800 lbs. It did not come with the tow package, however that changes tomorrow. I have elected to go with the 10 series Flowmaster and the Airraid throttle body and the Airraid CAI. I won't be doing the Mass airflow sensor yet because I won't be tuning the truck until I lift it and change the gearing to 4.10's. my question is on the tranny cooling I thought this truck came with a transmission cooler? Should I add an additional one? They aren't expensive. What should the normal running temp towing should it be? With these Mods can I tow more then 6800 lbs? I don't see the power being problem as I have towed this same boat with an 07 durango 4.7 v8 with no problems. Am I on the right setup with the CAI, EXHAUST, SPACER, AND ADDITIONAL TRANS COOLER?

That gear swap will probably help you out a lot. The most I've towed with my 4.8 is my Rhino on a 12 ft utility trailer roughly in the neighborhood of 2000lbs total. It's not bad but you can definately tell it's back there and the gas mileage goes way down.

Welcome to the site. You are going in the right direction to help your truck breathe better and help your towing but remember to tow safely..you can tow about anything, its the part were u safely tow, and safely brake. As for the tranny cooler i think it was an option for the towing package, but i could be wrong

Hey Koolz I am always safe I have been towing for 17 years with no problems. I am just trying to update the truck in hopes that I can't get pretty close to the same results I had with my titan.
