Postby Wooly [OP] » Nov 19 2012, 11:54am

Just was wondering how many of you guys out there are running on E85 and or switch back an forth from E85 to 87,89,93 ???
My truck is brand new an hasn't had its first taste of E85 yet so I'm looking for some feedback from someone whom has used or is using E85.

Thanks in advance.

I run 89 or 91 in mine, not sure what the previous owner did though. My town does not have a station that sells E85.

2013 GMC Sierra 5.3L Flex Fuel

Postby Machster69 » Nov 19 2012, 2:29pm

I would tell you the results, but honestly I dont remember what my manual said. I do it was very specific and your on to the right idea of making sure you do it right... Ive seen members here with flex fuel trucks have problems when burning it. Also its important to think why your wanting to burn it? Its not always a cheaper option when you consider the poor mileage and the possible damage to the vehicle(if you are one of those)

Sounds like a hassle to me. If you run good gas you'll get better MPG's.

You actually gain power, and loose mpg.
