Anything is possible with time and money... I can tell you it wont be an easy 'drop in'/'bolt in' swap.

Your 02 probably has a 4 sp, and the 07-09 has a 6 sp, no? Your going to have length issues, and will need some custom length drive shafts, and probably modify the trans cross member; but it should be no problem. Make sure to get all of the computers/modules and wiring harnesses from the old truck.

That might be a PITA, the ECM, TCM and BCM all talk to each other, getting them to play nice might be more trouble than its worth.

I have a 4 speed in my 07.5. I believe gm started making the 6 speed in late 09 to current. If you put a current 5.3 in with the AFM, make sure you keep a extra quart or two of oil handy :(

Afm motors are notorious for burning oil. Some are worse than others, really seems like a crap shoot. Also mpg varies widely between them as well. Some get 22, others get 15 with the same setup.

Like I said, good and bad ones out there. I have a 07 L76 6.0 in my truck which is an aluminum block afm motor and with 108k on it doesnt burn or leak a drop of oil. You could also always do an afm delete.
