I just got a 2011 1500LT 4x4 with the 5.3L AFM engine. Sometimes it has a rough idle, sometimes it does not. I asked the shop person about this and was given the standard answer of "it is normal". I only have about 900 miles, but will this even out after it breaks in a little more?

my 09 sierra with a 4.8L has a slightly rough idle but nothing major it is really soft and you have to be paying very close attention to feel it also the quality of gas effects the way my truck idles. on a side note my step dads 2000 GMC has the same idle and his is a 5.3L

I wouldnt stress it until it stalls. It seems to be a normal thing.

Shouldn have a "rough " idle... that's they're cop out... b a dick... then it'll get done right....

Mine too . .only 600 miles on it and only does it when it cold . . . would regular gas do this??
