Bad acceleration

Bad acceleration

Postby Imbranu [OP] » Mar 26 2011, 8:00pm

Okay so i just bought a 2008 chevy silverado 5.3l truck and i am having difficulty taking off from a dead stop. I push on the gas and it starts to take off then it bogs down at about 1k rpm. Then after a couple of second it picks up again and then bogs down. I am thinking it might be the MAF sensor needs to be cleaned but not sure. Thanks for the help.

With such a new truck, I wonder if somebody did some work around the air intake and this vehicle is getting some air, not measured by the MAF. Check all of the connections on the air intake plumbing. Also check for any restrictions of the air cleaner assembly and possible clean the MAF. Has somebody added a performance air filter and over-oiled it?

No performance filter still stock. I am going to try and clean the maf sometime this week and see if that helps at all. It's wierd because it only happens at low speeds 0-20 at 20-60 it's accelerates perfectly normal.

I was just going to ask the same question. My 08 gmc 5.3 kinda does the same thing if i push down easy on the accelerator from dead stop. Also another question does everyones truck kinda idle funny like it has a miss? Or is it just mine?
