i have a 2007 Silverado classic with a 5.3 vortec and im looking for some ideas and suggestions on bolt on's that will give me some more horsepower?

Tuner

That will cost you about $700-800, and is a proven way of safely adding HP by yourself.

Spectre is a good, cheap brand for an intake. Autoanything.com is a great site for those... Diablo makes the best tuners, if you ask me. They come with great features, and one of our members, member/06MonteSS/, is a Diablo vendor and can set you up with custom tuning, which will make your truck go even faster

Awesome ill take a look in to both of those products! any suggestions on some slight motor mods like a cam,heads and things like that?

Those aren't slight motor mods. Putting in a new cam is going to cost about $900, and a day's labor. The 3 things I mentioned are basically the easiest things you can do, and after that you can start tackling the cam, forced induction, fuel system, etc. The sky's the limit, as long as you've got the $$$ to do it.

Don't waste your money on a CAI....The best option for the money is an AirAid MIT connected to your OEM air box. Black Bear Performance tested many CAI's and just the tube alone put up better numbers and cooler air than the complete kits.
Cat-back exhaust will also help, along with a tune.

One of our members recently dyno-tested his new CAI... the new HP figures were double-digits better than the stock box. Of course, I can't remember the link, but it solidified my faith in the CAI. There's plenty of other threads discussing that, though.

Wasnt his hp gains at like 6k rpms though? I think it was choda... He posted several dynos on different mods he had...

I'm 100% willing to take a look at both options as far as air flow goes, the reason i asked about heavier engine mods is i have another 5.3 vortec motor is my garage that i would like to build up then drop in my truck. iv heard that people have swapped out there stock cam for a Z06 cam or a LS1 hot cam and had no problems but im not sure if its true? im also wondering about who i should go to for internal motor parts and everyting else?
