E3 Spark Plugs

Postby DRAGON_LAKE [OP] » Mar 22 2012, 6:15am

Has anyone tried the E3 plugs? Ive heard ppl talk about them and say they help with starts, power and mpg. I was wondering if new plugs were worth the extra money.

Stay with the factory spark plugs, you can't beat them.

those plugs are garbage!! I put them on my 2007 silverado 4.8 and had to take them out 6 months later. My MPG went from 16mpg avg to 13.8mpg avg
if you want to get somethiing better and if you are happy with the extra expense to do so go with the NGK laser iridium. they are between 8 and 10$ a plug and have iridium and platinum contacts.

I've had good luck with them in small engines, but buying OEM plugs is your best bet, when it comes to your truck.

No real opinion on the E3 plugs, my apologies to the OP.

For those who are recommending OEM...is there any particular reason? I've always been told better contacts and long-lasting gap control are the keys to a good plug...are these found in OEM plugs? Or are you guys just against the E3?

Lately GMs engines have just run best with OEM style plugs. Gimmick plugs just don't last. A co-waorker has Bosch in his GM 3.7L I5 and it idles rough. He doesn't believe it can be the plugs. I've been trying to convince him to pull one and check.

I had an 04 cavalier before i bought my sierra and i ran ACdelco for the first 3 years. I switched to NGK and played with the gap on both spark plugs and the ACdelco lasted longer than the NGk. I have noticed if you play with the gap on ACdelco's you can get more pick up but loose a little mpg. The only thing i have heard about the E3 is they are good for high performance engines anything else they are a waste of money, but that is just hear say.
