I have just a simple question. What is everybody's engine water temperature. Also do you have your chin spoiler on or off.

Well, I don't know what a chin spoiler is, unless that is the ghetto term for 'front air damn', and if so, mine was so eloquently removed by a snow drift 3 months after I owned it. 210°. ☺

Once warmed up, I have never seen my temp. guage move from 210. Towing, city traffic, 100 degree outside temp., it does not seem to matter to my truck. And I do have the chin spoiler/air dam in place.

The factory gauge is heavily dampened...if you would read right off the sensor, you would see it varies by 10*F under normal driving, let alone towing heavy. While my factory gauge reads 210*F, the sensor is sitting happy at 194*F to 197*F, it will swing from 188*F to 203*F under normal driving. I have seen 215*F once, towing right about max GCVW.

I have an Edge Insight that reads the input from the sensors through the ECM and OBD port...

This gauge dampening is nothing new...the auto manufacturers have been using this technique since the computer controlled systems were introduced...even my POS 1997 Subaru has dampened gauges. Its done to prevent customers from returning about a guage not reading exactly what they think it should read, or (in the case of coolant temperature) from complaining about how much the needle moves. On some of the newer Dodge trucks, the oil pressure is complete fake...the pressure is read via a 7psi on-off switch, and the ECM generates a PSI on the gauge based on operating parameters; you can actually have zero pressure for up to 3 minutes before the gauge will register zero. Point being, most gauge clusters are for decoration.
