Intake Install

Postby thomas1737 [OP] » Jul 28 2011, 1:06am

I am replacing the knock sensors this weekend and need to know if there is anything I need to watch for when installing the intake. This is the first time I have tried to put an intake back on. I have the updated green gaskets and the Haynes manual says to use medium thread lock on the intake bolts. Haynes also says to re-thread the bolt holes - is this neccessary? If so what size tool do I need? Thanks for the help.

to be honest i would not re-thread them unless you know what you are doing. it is very easy to mess up, and if your intake does not seal right your truck will run like crap! you should be perfectly fine just torque it down to the right specs

I just did this a few weeks ago, I din't use any thread lock or re-thread anything, just torqued to "nice and tight".
