Is this normal for gas mileage?

Is this normal for gas mileage?

Postby harbors [OP] » Mar 08 2011, 12:13am

I bought a 05 Silverado Crewcab 2wd with 275-55-20 tires 3 months ago and I am averaging around 13-14 miles per gallon. Is this normal or should I be getting better mileage?

Thanks

Mike

Has the speedometer been checked for accuracy?

I've had the same prob. stuck at 15mpg. I never took it in to get checked but the police radar stands on the side of the road matched my speedo. I tend to bury the pedal often though so I'm guessin' its about right for me.

harbors - with that size tire, you will want to make sure that your entire system is accurate (speedo, etc) so that the computer can accurately calculate mpg's and distance traveled. This should be your first step to finding a solution.

Hand calculate your mpg then report back. Computers lie.

Has anyone tried Mile Edge Plus? I just pulled up their website and it looks too good to be true, but $50 may be worth giving it a shot? Anyone have experience with this?

I'm just thinking if it really works then tons of people would know about it and be on here saying it works. It's just gotta be too good to be true, especially for $50.
