Misfire #6 can't find problem...

Postby Jon2721 [OP] » Feb 11 2011, 5:34am

I'm getting a misfire on cylinder #6 and I can't figure out what is causing the problem. I have a check engine light on with a P306 code. ( this is the only code that I'm receiving ) The engine idles rough at an idle and it is very noticeable that there is a cylinder misfiring. When I'm driving I don't really notice any performance issues at all. I can get on the fwy with the pedal floored and it feels as if I have 100% power.

I have checked the following and tried to eliminate the source by doing...

changed out all plugs and wire to a new set
swapped out coils with other cylinders ( #4 with #6 )
swapped out fuel injectors with other cylinders (#2 with #6 )
checked to see if injector #6 was receiving a pulse with a noid and it checked out to be good with the light blinking.

any Ideas....

Thank you, Jon

I also forgot to mention that I did a compression test as well & #6 was reading about 125-130 psi like the others.

Sure sounds like you covered all possible issues.

Ugh- those types of problems give me stomach aches and headaches- keep going strong, man! You'll figure it out eventually.
