I was going to suggest that as well, but I saw you already found that thread.

It's hard to see if it is bad until you remove it. They are known to go bad though. It's an easy fix, and looks to be your source of your oil leakage. You can get some spray brake cleaner and spray it off really good and then run the engine a bit to see if is leaking, if you want to.

hey that is good idea, but its a bit rainy atm, imma do that tomorrow morning, and check it after work. btw if I replace the gasket, all I do is let engine cool down, unbolt 2 bolt, clean the surface and install new gasket ? how much oil will I lost, i want to know before hand.

where can I get this gasket, I seem cant find it on advance auto part.

You should not lose much oil at all. Let me see if I can find the thread that had the part number listed. I couldnt find it at advance's site either. I think it was found on RockAuto's site.

I changed this same gasket on my 2003 a few weeks ago thinking it would fix my oil leak. Well it slowed it down but it still drips. I'm sure it's now a rear main seal. Lots of thread on this site about that subject!
Unfortunately the gasket is only available from the dealership. GM# 12611384. You'll loose about a 1/4 of a quart, it's not bad, just have a small container to catch the drips.

Nice for part #, I did a little search on it thru google, and seem like there is a TBS for it, and it say add sealant to the gasket, but I dont know what sealant they were talking about ? black rtv ?
