oil pressure guage all over the place

oil pressure guage all over the place

Postby wodell0673 [OP] » Jan 20 2011, 4:26am

I have a 2006 GMC Sierra and for quite a while now my oil pressure gauge has been screwed up. For a wile now it was pinned to max pressure once the truck was running. Just recently now it is bouncing from max to zero and the low oil pressure tone goes off each time it does (driving me crazy). I am thinking it is the sending unit but am looking for suggestions. If you do think it is the sending unit can someone please give me an idea of were I can find it. Thanks for any info.wodell0673

If you search around, you'll see that the stepper motors on the gauges are known to fail. There was a service bulletin about it.
