I have a 2006 GMC Sierra SLE 5.3L V8 Flex Fuel truck. I'm getting misfire CEL codes on cylinder #6. I've replaced the spark plug, wire, coil pack, and it still is throwing that code. I'm going to replace the injector next, but...
...I have a Haynes manual, and it states to remove both the incoming and outgoing fuel lines to the fuel injector assembly. I can only see one line going into the assembly. Is that correct?
And how hard is it to replace the injector on this vehicle?
Thank you for your help and advice. I really appreciate it.
Have you tried a professional injector/upper intake cleaning?
Before I started chasing rabbits and throwing more parts at it I would bring the truck in and get this service done. I would bring it in to a local GM dealership ....many of these dealers have priced themselves very competitively with local indie shops; you might pay a little more but you get the expertise.
When I first got my '06 it would make a ticking noise at idle ....turned out it was an injector because after I had the injector cleaning (at my local GMC dealer) the ticking sound went away.
The cost for the cleaning ran about $80 at the dealer.
