I am thinking bout finding a supercharger for my 1999 z71. I love the sound and the performance. Anyone want to throw in some ideas?

If you have the cash I would. The big question is whether you want to run centrifugal or positive displacement. I like the simplicity of the positive displacement's but the power potential is a lot higher with an air to air intercooled centrifugal, don't get me wrong, the postive blowers will make some big power and usually more than enough for the majority of us.

Man I tell you what if I had an extra 5 grand burning a hole thru my pocket, my 5.3 would a have an intercooled magna charger on it in a New York second! I'm rebuilding and beefing up the 4l60 in a few months so that won't be an issue with the additional HP. Keep us posted!!

Theres a couple used setups on ebay for 1000. Ive heard though it would burn up my pistons on a older used motor.

I haven't heard that before. How many miles on your truck?? I have about 100K and I would be afraid of putting a MagnaCharger on mine.

Oooooh, that's a bit more than mine. Still if it's a healthy engine, good compresion, doesn't burn oil, it should be ok.

My oil pressure sits at 50 idling and if the truck is pinned it hits 80. My buddies have chevys with 5.3s and noone elses has close to as much oil pressure if that says anything. and she will get up and go still.

Like everybody else I would get one as well if I had the extra money. My 08 has just over 100k but runs really well. Oh well maybe someday.
