I am going to be getting a trick performance twin turbo kit for my 2000 gmc sierra 1500 5.3l. I am going to fully rebuilding and upgrading everything. I have never really built a motor to take 25psi of boost and I'm wondering what I have all keep in mind when building this motor and any other things I should change. It is not going to have nitrous, it will b

maybe.... you should read this:

http://www.truckinweb.com/tech/engine/1 ... ewall.html

I dont want to spoil anything but you *should* be fine as long as you do the proper upgrades and dont rev the crap out of it... if you keep stock revs that should reduce valve float and the valve train will last longer. having said that, that is a ton of boost and i wouldnt expect it to last long. 12 psi maybe even 15 could be a DD (if street able) but that much may only get a few pulls on the strip before everything needs to be rebuilt.

May I suggest forged internals, crank rods pistons+rings, camshaft & turbo depends on what your using it for and defiantly some high flowing heads

also a good idea to port match intake & exhaust manifold to the cylinder heads to get proper flow

cause lets face it your not having fun unless your revving that beast out

did you read the link i posted. on our engine with a few mods it will produce 1300 hp but will "blow" up at 24.2 psi...

i think 25 is doable with the right rev range and parts pretty easily but it wont last long. and 1350 would be my guess if you get equally good flowing heads and intake.

it all really depends on what your using it for...if its strictly going down drag strips your gonna want to go all out all forged internals, big port heads, and big turbos

if you want to terrorize Hondas around town stick with stock internals put all your money into the cylinder heads camshaft, and a good tune...with of course decent size turbo

either way you want to make good power build them cylinder heads up so they can flow as much air as possible

dude 1 atm is so much better than one bar :P

but yea if its a street killer then spend your money on the cam and heads and run a small to medium sized turbo which will get you some *more* low end torque.

isn't bar like 760 per 1 atm? i say run 1 atm.

Law of diminishing returns. you start paying so much money per horsepower its absurd
