Change oil light

Postby acollins [OP] » Mar 28 2011, 1:54am

I just changed my engine oil to Amsoil. Now when I start my
Truck the amber light on the dash comes on and says change
Engine oil. It only stays on for about 20 seconds. Then goes off
Just wondering if anyone has any idea why it is doing this. I checked
The level and it is right on.

Do you have a DIC if you do find the engine oil monitor and reset it, if you don't have a DIC then toggle the button that changes the trip, total mileage etc until you see reset oil life. I hope this helps if it applies to your truck

DIC = Driver Information Center.
For info on how to reset your oil monitor, consult your manual. If you do not have you manual, here is a link to it: Owner's Manuals
