the truck is a 2002 6.0l with 110k miles
i was just informed that the check engine light came on and engine temp rose while pulling a 16ft stock trailer empty up a hill in WV but once the truck got to the top the temp went down the problem started 3 hours into the trip and the trip is 6 hours long
i believe it is the thermostat not sure though
checked all that and took it to a mechanic and he said it was a connector that is in the air intake tube and he cleaned the sensor that is in the tube and truck runs fine he also said to put cold air intake on the truck
i said the same thing the guy said it has to do with telling the ecm how much fuel to put into each cylinder
which doesnt make sense i mean i have three years of automotive training and the IAT nor the MAF sensor make ect temp rise
I guess that kinda makes sense. I'd think it would cause it to run ean, which will cause an overheating condition. It was nice of the guy to fix it for free.
ya thats for sure since we are about 200 miles from home when it happened
