Postby skip666 [OP] » Aug 04 2011, 10:32pm

i got a gmc 2500 w/ 6.0 vortec and it is hard to start more so when its warm i have to pump the gas pedal to get it to start but sometimes it will fire right upand other times its kinda inbetween... i have changed the fuel filter and have tried a injector cleaner but no difference i have had the oil changed and it has been burning oil since i got a couple months ago i put about 4 quarts in it within 3k miles and the idle seems kinda low and a bit rough anyone have any suggestions on where to start?

mine has a hard time starting becuase my fuel pump is going out, which could be your starting problem. mine occasionally fires right up, or you can crank all day and it wont fire, but upon the second turn of the key it starts right up.

I recently had a rough-idling issue, too. The problem was that my throttle body was dirty, but once it got cleaned, the truck perked right up.

if you clean your throttle body, it will also eliminate pedal sticking, if that is an issue
